Calvin began shooting competitively in 1998, working his way quickly through the ranks of both the USPSA and IDPA associations. By 2004 he ranked 11th nationally in the USPSA in his division, among other numerous victories and awards; but it wasn’t his determination and marksmanship alone that got him where he is today. Anyone who has competed with Calvin (or “Hollywood” as his team members often call him) will tell you that his personality and sense of humor are what make him such a memorable competitor and friend.
Starting literally with nothing but a pistol and love of the game, he steadily began honing his skills and as he became a better marksman, people took notice. It wasn’t long before numerous companies began taking interest in his shooting ability, and today he has over a dozen sponsors, whom he enthusiastically promotes at every match.
Regardless of how he places during a match, he remains positive, focused and always willing to give advice to other shooters. He is truly a role model for any new shooter.
